چکیده
The Erythrina gall wasp Quadrastichus erythrinae Kim (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) is an invasive insect that induces galls on coral trees (species of Erythrina, Fabaceae) in urban and suburban landscapes. Weakening death the tree were both observed after infestation by this insect, wherein feeding consequent draining nutrients a large population Q. could be playing key role. In article, we consolidate summarize information distribution, invasion route, ecology, level, management populations last two decades analyze challenges their management.

Aprostocetus exertus La Salle (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae: Tetrastichinae) is described as a parasitoid of the invasive Erythrina Gall Wasp, Quadrastichus erythrinae Kim (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae: Tetrastichinae). The description is based on material originally collected in Tanzania and South Africa. This species is described because of its potential as a biological control agent against the Erythr...

The erythrina gall wasp (EGW), believed native to Africa, is a recently described species and now serious invasive pest of Erythrina (coral trees) in tropical and subtropical locales. Erythrina are favored ornamental and landscape trees, as well as native members of threatened ecosystems. The EGW is a tiny, highly mobile, highly invasive wasp that deforms (galls) host trees causing severe defol...

متن کاملRapid Invasion Despite Lack of Genetic Variation in the Erythrina Gall Wasp (Quadrastichus
The erythrina gall wasp, Quadrastichus erythrinae Kim, has recently and rapidly invaded a broad swath of the tropical and subtropical Pacific Basin, causing severe damage to most species of coral trees (Erythrina spp.). This small (length @1.5 mm) wasp attacks the photosynthetic tissue (leaves, buds, stems, flowers) of ornamental and native Erythrina, often killing the trees. This invasion pose...

The erythrina gall wasp (EGW) , Quadrastichus erythrinae Kim 2004, was first detected in Hawaii in 2005 and has been infesting and killing Erythrina trees throughout the island chain since. It is believed EGW originated from Africa (Messing et al. 2009). Its host range appears to be linnted to Erythrina; its geographic range already includes much of Asia and the Pacific. In North America, EGW h...
